Czocha Castle

Czocha Castle is located in the village of Sucha, in the municipality of Leśna (Lubań County). It is about 35 km from Jelenia Góra and about 20 km from Świeradów-Zdrój, making it an ideal destination for guests of Hotel Elements.

A standard guided tour of the castle lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. If you also plan to stroll through the courtyards, climb the observation tower, and visit the food outlets or Lake Leśniańskie, it’s worth setting aside about 2.5 to 3 hours for your visit.

Ticket prices depend on the scope of the tour. A standard ticket for a guided tour of the castle usually costs around 30–40 PLN, and a reduced-price ticket around 20–30 PLN. You can also purchase a cheaper ticket for access to the courtyards only (without the interiors). The castle’s interiors can only be visited in groups with a guide, who tells stories about secret passages and the building’s rich history. However, you can explore the courtyards on your own and climb the observation tower (after purchasing the appropriate ticket).

Czocha Castle is known as the “Polish Hogwarts” and is extremely popular among filmmakers. Scenes for the following films and TV series were filmed here: “The Witcher,” “The Mystery of the Cipher Fortress,” “Legend,” “Two Worlds” (Spellbinder), and “First Love.” The site is also famous for hosting international LARP-style role-playing games set in a world of magic.

The main attractions include: numerous secret passages (hidden in cupboards or behind movable walls), the Knights’ Hall, a stylish library, the Torture Chamber, the Treasury, and multimedia exhibitions. The Night Tour of the Castle is also extremely popular, during which visitors discover the dark legends and secrets of the fortress in an atmosphere of dread.

Yes, there is a restaurant serving Polish cuisine and a café on the castle grounds. Visitors can also take advantage of food stands located at the entrance gate and in the outer bailey, allowing them to rest after their tour.
