The Kamieńczyk Waterfall (846 m), which is part of the Karkonosze National Park, is the highest waterfall in the Polish Sudetes. It is located on the route linking Szklarska Poręba and Szrenica. Getting to the waterfall, initially easy, becomes slightly more difficult leading through the stony path and takes about two hours.
A distinctive feature of the Kamieńczyk Waterfall is that it consists of three cascades with a total height of 27 meters. The Kamieńczyk Gorge itself is 100m long. The waterfall can be admired both from the top and from the ground.

The hike to Kamieńczyk Waterfall from the center of Szklarska Poręba takes an average of 45 minutes to 1 hour. The trail is easy at first, but becomes rockier and steeper toward the end. The entire trip, including the return to town, usually takes about 2 hours of walking.
Admission to the Kamieńczyk Gorge (descent to the bottom of the waterfall) is subject to a fee and costs 16 PLN for a regular ticket and 8 PLN for a reduced-rate ticket. Additionally, since the attraction is located within the Karkonosze National Park, you must add the cost of the KNP admission ticket, which is 10 PLN (regular) and 5 PLN (reduced). Children under 7 are exempt from both fees. Please note that viewing the waterfall exclusively from the upper viewing terraces near the shelter does not require an additional fee for entry to the gorge, only the KPN ticket.
Direct access by car to the waterfall itself is not possible, as it is located within a protected area. The nearest parking lot (paid) is located along National Road No. 3 (the Szklarska Poręba–Jakuszyce route). From there, it is about a 15–20-minute uphill walk to the waterfall along the red trail.
A helmet is mandatory only for those who decide to descend into the Kamieńczyk Gorge (lower viewing platform). Helmets are provided free of charge with the purchase of an admission ticket to the gorge for safety reasons (risk of falling rock debris). Viewing the waterfall from the upper terraces does not require a helmet.
Simply admiring the cascades and descending into the gorge usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. When planning a trip from Hotel Elements or the center of Szklarska Poręba, it’s worth setting aside a total of about 2.5 to 3 hours to leisurely walk the trail, explore the gorge, and rest at the “Kamieńczyk” or “Szałas Sielanka” shelters.
The Kamieńczyk Gorge served as a natural backdrop for the film “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” It was here that the scenes were filmed in which the Pevensie siblings make their way through the rocky canyon. The location was chosen by the filmmakers for its fairy-tale-like, monumental character and vertical walls reaching 25 meters in height.
