The Jizera Mountains is a mountain range located in the Western Sudetes, in the Czech Republic and Poland. On the Polish side, it stretches between Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów-Zdroj. They are famous for having two faces: a gentle one with picturesque meadows and murmuring streams, and a cold one, shaped by a chilly climate, somewhat reminiscent of Siberia.
The Jizera Mountains, owing to their relatively gentle slopes, are ideal for family mountain trips. They are also popular among mountain bikers. In winter, classic skiers flock here to enjoy over than 100 kilometers of ski trails.
In total, the Jizera Mountains cover an area of about 1000 km2. The 400 km2 area on the Polish side is divided into two massifs: the High Ridge with Wysoka Kopa (1126 m above sea level) and the Kamienica Ridge with Kamienica (973 m above sea level). Stunning, not very high mountain peaks, picturesque stream valleys, rocky outcrops - regardless of the season, amazing impressions await tourists here.
